By Natalie Dawson.

Premium footwear and handbag brand Stuart Weitzman has launched its latest range of high-end fashion accessories, SW1, designed by new creative director Alvaro Gonzalez.

Gonzalez’ formerly worked for Jimmy Choo, as design director of accessories.

His SW1 collection for Stuart Weitzman is centred around the concept of exclusivity and fashion-forward designs, crafted from top quality materials.

It features footwear with sharp silhouettes and clean graphic lines inspired by architecture, geometry and the decorative touches of 1930s art deco.

The collection uses warm, soft materials for a toned down approach, with a strong emphasis on suede.

Adjustable metal chains on python hobo bags offer multiple lengths, while link chains on python bags are covered in leather.

Stand-out pieces include the Frazzle bag, a combination lock purse in calfskin that fits computers and Ipads.

Colours run from deep jewel tones on shoes, to winter pastels on handbags.

For SW1’s first season – a/w 12 - the shoes will launch globally, while handbags will be focused on US and non- European countries. Top designer boutiques and department stores are being targeted for distribution.

The SW1 collections will be presented seasonally during Milan fashion week, at new showrooms in the city’s prestigious Via della Spiga.
